We are looking for a house sitter who can keep our dog Emma company while we are away. The apartment is a 1 bedroom on the sunny second floor, on a quiet cul de sac in Capitol Hill. Capital Hill is a hip and fun neighborhood in the heart of Seattle, within walking distance of the downtown shopping district, Pike Place Market, and other sights. I love living in this neighborhood - we have great restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, and shopping. Public transportation is excellent. Seattle is also justly famous for it's many wilderness and beauty spots, and we are a short drive from many hiking and camping opportunities.
Emma is a 18 lb, 5 year old mix who is a total sweetheart. I rescued her from a pound that was closing 4 years ago, and really lucked out with her. She has gone through obedience training and is well behaved. Emma loves snuggling and being near people, and not a fan of being left alone for long periods of time. An ideal situation for her would be one where she can stay in her home and have someone keep her company while we are gone. Caring for Emma involves: feeding her 2x/day, walking her 2x a day around the block for potty breaks, and then a longer walk every few days to get some exercise. We are 1 block from a small park, 3/4 mile from Cal Anderson park and 1.2 miles from Volunteer Park, which is a lovely historic green space in the fancypants part of Capitol Hill.
We have wifi and a 32" TV with antenna (no cable), DVD player and 100s of DVDs. There is laundry in the building and an excellent coffee shop 2 blocks away. The local supermarket, drugstore and library are both within a 10 minute walk, and the closest bus stop is 1 block away.
Thanks!
