Hello:
We are a couple who live near the intersection of Bayview and Sixteenth Avenue, which is in the southern part of Richmond Hill, just a little north of Toronto, and we are going away for a vacation on September 16th and returning October 1st of this year.
While we are gone, we will be looking for a couple who could move into our home in order to keep an eye on the house. We have three adult children in their twenties, but we don’t feel that they always have the best interests of our home and property in mind.
It is important to us that the doors stay locked and the garage doors stay closed as our children sometimes forget. We would also need someone to bring dishes and glasses to the kitchen and to run the dishwasher at the end of the day so that everything just doesn’t pile up. Generally speaking, the kids come and go as they please, and are easy to get along with. You would NOT be responsible for them. We would simply feel more comfortable if responsible adults were around to water the plants, turn off lights that shouldn’t have been left on, keep the kitchen somewhat tidy, etc. (There is no house cleaning to do, as we have a cleaning lady who comes once a week for four hours.)
That’s why we list under “House vs Kids”. You would be our advocate while we are away protecting the house; the kids will take care of themselves. That’s also why we are hoping for a couple who is either retired, or work from home, as we would like to think that between the two of you, at least one of you would be here the vast majority of the time.
