Hi. I'm looking for someone to keep an eye on my home and take care of my incredibly handsome although slightly quirky English Pointer. I have an opportunity to travel for a couple of months out of the country and would prefer that he stay in his home while I'm gone. Hopefully, with his routine in place, he'll hardly notice I'm gone:).
I live in typical Chicago 3 flat on the top floor in East Village. It's about miles west of downtown proper but is still very much in the city. Everything is within walking distance including bars, a very good variety of restaurants, groceries, boutique gyms, etc. The flat has been restored (vs rehabbed) which is a plus Chicago. It has two bedrooms and the dining/living room is a wide open space. Decor is simple modern - opting for comfort over clutter.
My dog, Booker T, just turned 9. He's pretty awesome and chill. He does have couple of quirks though... He has leash aggression when around other dogs which is easily managed by crossing the street or distracting him. But no mingling on the sidewalk with other dogs. That said, he's the perfect dog at daycare with all dogs when he's not on leash. He also eats a raw diet which means raw meat (chicken). It's the only thing that keeps his weight on. Lastly, he has Addison's Disease which requires 1 pill every morning and 1 shot every days. It's easily managed and he knows the routine for the shot - to the point where he sees the vial and calmly walks over to me with his head down and sits.
He also has a daycare that's a few blocks away and they know him well. I'll include some daycare days as well as a couple of overnight stays if needed. Additionally, they've given him his shots before so that's an alt for that. He's really a great puppy and I hate to leave him but this is a once and lifetime opportunity.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
