We live in Gozo the sister Island to Malta in the village of Qala. The village has wonderful views of Malta and third island of the Maltese Islands, Comino with its beautiful blue lagoon. There is a beach very close at Hondoq and plenty of lovely areas to walk. Gozo is a gem with lots of historical interest. The citadel in the capital Victoria/Rabat is fascinating. Transport here is easy with cheap buses all linked to the capital as a hub. The ferries to and from Malta run 24hours. Exploring Malta is a must for any visitor should you wish to stay with us upon our return from holiday you are welcome to extend your stay to enjoy the big island too. We have to head to South Africa to see our families and 2 new grandchildren. Although loathe to leave our home in Gozo duty calls! The dog is a very nervous and timid 5 year old female dog. She needs to be taken to the adjacent fields at least 3 times daily. As walking in the area is a pleasure you may find yourself taking her out more often. She is easily controllable and prefers to ignore other dogs. She is a previously abused rescue dog. She is very nervous and will stick close to you. She is a dream on the lead and is easily controlled. Previously we have always left Granny in charge of her sadly she no longer able to help. The main problem is that we recently lost our other dog to cancer. The female is so neurotic that she cannot be left alone at home which is severely limiting for a carer. We take her everywhere as she is well behaved but I am concerned as to how trusting she will be of strangers. She is comfortable to remain in a well ventilated car in Winter for a limited time. Ideally this sit would be perfect for a couple wanting to be at home working while we are away. Staying on and visiting and touring after our return may be a better option. The house is part of a small complex of Gozitan stone houses.it has 4 big bedrooms all en-suite and all with a balcony or terrace and a/c. There is a pool and we have a pool maintenance man. The only outside space is around the pool so the only gardening is looking after potted plants. The village has 3 small superettes 2 of which are gloriously chaotic and 1 very organised. The village square has 7 assorted bars and restaurants and a pharmacy. It is dominated by a huge church as are all the Gozitan villages. The locals are charming and very helpful. The local produce is fresh and delicious. Come and visit a place where people still have time for each other - you will want to stay for ever as we have done. Kind Regards
Ps smoking is your choice as long as you do it outside no problem with us.
