We have a 3 bedroom house and a 2 bedroom guest house. We are looking for someone, preferably a couple, who will live in our house and manage the guest house for us. The guest house is primarily used to accommodate volunteer workers who are travelling through South America. Therefore our house sitter would be responsible for managing the volunteer workers arrival and assigning them tasks to do. We also have a total of 6 pets. Two dogs, one of which is an adorable Rottweiler who is getting on a bit in years and needs daily medicine for arthritis, but he takes this with no problem. The other dog is a lovable, energetic mutt who loves to go for walks but is also quite happy to entertain himself. We have 4 cats, none of them have any specific quirks outside what is normal for cat behavior.
The house you will live in is 130 years old, but it is not a crumbling shack. It is located in a quiet and safe area.
Although I have put January 2014 as our start from date, this is flexible as we simply want to spend some time in Europe and do not have anything fixed in place yet.
We could also stay on for a week or two after your arrival to make sure you are settled in and know how things work.
We are in a rural, but not totally remote area and we could arrange for you to have the use of our car while we are away.
We would like our house sitters to pay the bills for the utilities they use (Electric, water, Internet, TV, Gas) but these are all relatively inexpensive. We would be happy for our house sitters to use any income from the guest house to meet the bill payments. Other financial obligations, such as property tax, irrigation water bills etc would be met by us.
If you arrive before our departure, which would be preferable, we would introduce you to our circle of very sociable friends, which would give you an optional social outlet. Otherwise, if you want to use the car, you will be able to get out and about in to town and the other local places of interest.
