If you love the beach, this is the spot! We have an ocean view home overlooking Crescent Beach. Our two storey home is situated at the top of a steep (heated in winter) driveway with a view that stretches from Golden Ears in the east to Tsawwassen to the south west. We have a huge, sunny deck that expands the living space in the summer, and a bit of yard and garden that might need some watering in spring/summer/fall. We also have an outdoor hot tub that requires periodic bromine tablets.
There are several restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and a beautiful beach path starts right across the street. You can walk straight to the beach or follow a mile loop path all the way around the water and back home again. We travel anywhere from two weeks to three months, a few times a year, and need someone to live in the house in our absence, bring in mail and keep an eye on a high-functioning, good natured, special needs adult senior. He lives in his own carriage house apartment, does most of his own cooking, some of his own shopping but cannot read or write so needs some support with mail etc. He needs reminders about appointments, and someone who is willing to just spend some time with him. It could be giving him little jobs to do, going for coffee or walks, giving him rides if it is snowy or icy out, taking him along on errands just to give him an outing or anything else that you both would enjoy. He has a regular group he attends two days a week and usually bowls on Saturdays in the winter. As long as the weather is decent he uses public transit to get wherever he needs to go. The first occasion will be Oct 4- (dates confirmed), then longer term Nov/24-Feb/25. Dates to be confirmed.
A current Criminal Records check and First Aid/CPR is required. Remuneration could be offered for the right person/people.
