We will be traveling in the USA, possibly leaving mid-May; return will depend on our house-sit itinerary, we think sometime between mid-August and September. Winter season is starting - you'll need warm coats, boots & hats and wear clothes in layers. Not a cushy house-sit position, yet if you want to know more about this country, well worth a visit.
Our 4 guys/gals are people-pets and seek human contact daily. Arvy-dog will overwhelm you with love and wants to play (with a capital P). The 2 female cats born on property (Lit'ning & Rambita) are friendly, depending on your energy, and the recent young interloper (Kitty) is a curious critter! They all ask for meals 2-3x daily, sleep in the house at night but often wander the big yard by day, weather permitting. Wintertime, doors are closed -- you will need to let them in/out as required. We'll have bulk dry food in the house; you'll need to purchase canned food and fresh chicken to supplement, as well as bones for Arvy.
This big old house is still under renovation. Our private quarters include 2BR/2BA, kitchen/dining, Living. Our housekeeper is available if you'd like her to cook & clean & do laundry throughout the week (at your cost, which is quite reasonable). We'll pay the water & TV/Cable/Internet (yes, WIFI too)-- you pay electric and propane (heat source).
Saturday fresh market right out the front door. 4 grocery stores within 4- block walk. Metro station, 2 blocks to Plaza for the 40-min ride to Santiago Centro. Day trips possible if you arrange pet care with housekeeper, but must be in house overnight. Walk to stores locally, or use metro, taxi, bus & collectivo (shared taxi). Tourist attractions: local wineries (30 min), visit the foothills of the Andes(45 min) to the east, or west to the coastline (2+ hr), all day- tripping distance.
Property includes 6 rental apartments; off-site manager will be available by phone for questions or concerns. Weekly contact for updates on the animals expected.
