Hi to everyone interested in visiting Boulder.
I am planning a trip from to Costa Rica.
Boulder is a great city. It's a university town at the foot of the Rockies. From here, you can ski closeby at Eldora or travel a couple hours to the larger ski areas. Even during the winter, it's usually sunny weather.
I am retired and enjoy traveling. I have had several people stay at my house at different times and it has worked out quite nicely.
I live in a nice, 3 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath ranch home in a quiet neighborhood in South Boulder. The house is about 1100 sq ft.; small, comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The kitchen is fairly newly remodeled and all the necessary amenities and the "powder room" includes a large size washer and dryer. In the bedroom is a queen size mattress and frame. One of the other bedrooms is used as a den/tv room and the other is a study with a couch that coverts to a full/queen size bed.
The house is close to the foothills, bike paths, and several grocery stores. You can even walk from the house to trails in the foothills. I would prefer someone(s) with a car, but If you don't have a car there's a great bus system within a few blocks that can take you all around town with easy rapid access to Denver, as well. My car would be available in case of emergencies.
The responsibilities would include general caring for the house and for the dogs. You would also have to take the trash and recycling bins to the street weekly. In December there may be some shoveling to do. If there is a lot of snow, I will arrange for someone to clear it out for you.
Both dogs are very sweet, well trained, and generally easy to take care of. Mieka is a 8 and 1/2 year old Standard Poodle and Lexi is a 6 year old Bouvier de Flanders. They are both in good health and eat well. I take them on a fairly long walk at least once a day. They walk well together on a leash and there are some close by dog parks in the area, as well. General petting, belly rubs, and a few treats here and there are also a "requirement." I usually leave the dogs in the house when I go out, but there is a dog door, as well, that can be used. The backyard has a 6 foot fence.
I have included some photos of the house, the dogs, and of the nearby foothills.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Again, there are 2 trips listed and if you are interested in a longer stay in Boulder between the 2 trips,, perhaps somethinng can be arranged.
Looking forward to hearing from you. We can discuss specifics when we talk. This is a great opportunity for all of us!
Best regards,
Joan
