We are looking for responsible pet sitters - ideally a couple or 2 friends - to mind our 11 friendly rescue dogs, and a few hens & ducks for the month of February 2019 (possibly just for the first fortnight or second fortnight in February if the whole month is too difficult). The dogs are quiet, friendly and generally well behaved but sitters with experience with dogs would be an advantage.
The dogs need walking twice daily and feeding in the morning only. Duties include keeping the kennels clean and picking up poo in the garden plus feeding/watering ducks and hens.
We live in a old stone cottage with a terrace/garden surrounded by rolling vineyards in historic Gascony. The property is homely and comfortable, despite being partly renovated. However we have satellite English tv and dvd player, a good internet connection, a lovely big sitting room with a woodburner and there is heating throughout the cottage.
We live within walking distance (1.5kms) of Gondrin (shops, bar/restaurant, ATM, chemist, post office) and we have 2 bikes available for exploring the local area. There are some lovely walks in the vicinity and towns such as Condom & Eauze are within 15 minutes drive and both have weekly markets and cinemas. There are many beautiful Gascon bastide villages to visit by car & we are situated close to the Pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela, and within a couple of hours drive of the Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees.
We live in a very rural, tranquil part of SW France so house sitters need to enjoy a quiet life as there is little or no nightlife in the area! There is also very limited public transport.
