I'm going on an extended trip to Eastern Europe, leaing April 20 and returning June 7. I'd like a housesitter to arrive in the afternoon before I leave for my trip and then leave the day after I get back. For such a long period of time, I want someone who is extra responsible in caring for my dogs.
One of my dogs is Albie, a sweet 9 year old cocker spaniel who weighs 18 pounds. He has vision problems, but gets around the house great. He does need eye drops in both eyes 3 days Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I also givee him Phenobaribal once a day for epilepsy, but he hasn't had a seizaure in years. He's extremely friendly and a joy to be around.
My other dog is Skyla, an Australian cattle dog/pittie mix. She's almost and weighs 48 pounds. She knows all her commands, is very gentle, and loves to go to the dog park and swim at dog beach. I usually take her to the beach twice a week if the weather is decent. She's Ms. Congenialty. I try to go to the dog park the days I don't go to the beach. The dog park is miles away, and the beach is an easy 10 minute drive. I need a house sitter who has a car. seats.
My home is 1500 square feet and 10 minutes from the ocean, 10 minutes from Mission Bay, and 10 minutes from the harbor. It's in a very safe residential neighborhood, and my street is only two blocks long. A wide variety of grocery and other stores are within a mile. I have a nice outdoor patio and a small one off the master bedroom. Aside from caring for my dogs, I need a mature and responsible person. I also want someone who is tidy and will keep the house as clean as it was when I left. I also would like the person to water indoor and outdoor plants as needed, but that probably won't be needed for a one week trip.
Please let me know if you have other questions. I already have detailed instructions which I'll send later which provides detailed information.
I need to find someone who will uphold their commitment. In the past I've been on a trip out of the country, and then gotten an from my house sitter telling me she'd accepted a job and needed to leave in three days. Fortunately she found someone to fulfill the rest of her time, but I don't want to go through that stress again.
I have always found house sitters who don't charge for their services, but are happy to be able to spend time in San Diego. That's what I'm looking for this time too.
Thanks in advance for your interest. I can provide you with more information once I hear from you, and we decide this is the right house sit for both of us.
