We are looking for someone to take care of our house in Italy while it is For Sale. Looking for a minimum stay of 3-6 months and maybe up to 1 year or until it sells. We have no pets to be watched but in the past the house was broken into, so we feel if it's habitat it will prevent break-ins. We have had house sitters for over a year and there have been no problems. Sometimes we may ask you to do some small maintenance jobs.
Our home is located in the Medieval town of Fondi, Italy. Fondi is midway between Rome and Naples and is located 10 to 15 minutes by car to many beautiful beaches along the Mediterranean Coast. Our home was built on Roman walls and is located in the Historical Center of Fondi. Everything is within walking distance: restaurants, shopping, movies, nightlife, bars, coffee shops, post office, banks, super markets, bus stops, and farmers market. The local bus can take you to the train station 10 minutes away. Trains depart from Fondi to Rome or Naples every hour during the day.
Our home has 4 levels and each level has an independent entrances. The house is old and not fancy, and the photos were taken before we were robbed, currently the house is very bare without its charm. The sitter will stay at the 4th level which is a loft/mezzanine-style low ceilings. There is a small kitchen with refrigerator, living-dining area, bathroom and bedroom with drawers and small closet. There is no washer/dryer (facilities nearby), no central heating, no TV or internet but there is free internet at most of the coffee shops/bars. House rules: no smoking and no drugs.
NOTE: Currently there is no hot water and not sure when it will be fixed, if ever. And if you are able to fix it then that would be great.
Duties include: living in the house, allow house viewing, keeping the house clean and presentable to buyers, small maintenance jobs, and opening up & closing the house when our family visits.
Sitters must have own source of income and must have their own health and accident insurance. We also ask that our house sitters pay utilities.
It's a fantastic town with everything in walking distance. The town is situated in a great location for day trips to many surrounding towns along the Mediterranean Sea, Rome and Naples.
