We are looking for a carer for our much loved pets. We will be away from end of Oct to the middle of December. We live in Valentine, on Lake Macquarie (Newcastle) and can see the lake from our balcony. We have 3 dogs we love very much and the primary reason for looking for a carer. All senior-ish dogs; two of which need to be walked at least once a day for 50 to 60mins - on an easy walk, so an active person/couple who love getting out doors would be great. Because we live on the lake, the area is beautiful and there are many places to walk esp with a huge leash free park within walking distance. They love to be patted so 'hands on' is a must. They all live inside (with their own dog door) and sleep in our room of a night (its a large room). Being kept outside or sleeping outside is not an option. Although sleeping outside the bedroom is acceptable. They have some medical issues but thankfully at this stage of their lives, quite manageable. The groomer is 4 doors down the road and I have a standing appointment with her for grooming. Feeding them is easy, dry food of an evening and meaty bones for breakfast. The freezer will be fully stacked with enough food to cover the duration of the stay. We have a lovely, large two story 4yr old home with a pool which is fully automated, and garden with watering system which is also fully automated. The lawn will not need mowing as our son-in-law will attend that, however, yep, the dogs poo has to be picked up every day - hygiene. There is small village of shops within walking distance and four major shopping areas within 10mins drive. The Bowling Club is under 5mins walk down the road and overlooks the lake, if you enjoy good food and a glass of wine. If you have a boat, you could be in the water in under 5mins as there are two boat ramps close by. Two beaches are within 15min drive, with others no more than 30min drive. Belmont Golf Course is a Links course, and runs along side Blacksmiths Beach and takes around 15mins tops to drive there. The wineries in the Hunter Valley are around an hours drive and the heart of Sydney is only a 2hr drive on the major express way . Our family lives very close by so any issues can be easily addressed. Owning a car which is able to transport a dog to the vet, if necessary, is a must. TV, Foxtel & Internet all available. Our home is extremely comfortable, the area beautiful and the dogs are very well behaved and easy to be with. So I am looking for a non-smoking, dog loving person/couple who love to walk (alcohol is OK in moderation) and who will take pride and care of/in our home.
