I am looking for a sitter who can look after my very friendly Rottie in my home.
As well as the Brian the dog, I also have two tropical fish tanks that need cared for. My home is a 3 bedroomed detached cottage in a tiny village in the Eden Valley, nestling between the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The cottage and gardens are pretty easy maintenance and have spectacular views of the Lake District fells. Also less than 10 miles away is the amazing Roman Wall fortifications or the Solway Estuary bird reserves plus there are many historical and other Roman sites near by in any direction you should choose.
This is a very rural area with many picturesque walks available and easy access to the world heritage site of the Lake District. There is, however, no public transport from the village so you will need your own. The nearest train station and Bus stop are around two miles away.
As an alternative I have a couple of battery assisted bicycles that you are welcome to use. These can easily take you to the nearest shop, or local Inns, Doctor's surgery or local Post Office (all around 1-2 miles away) and, most importantly, back again!
If you are willing and able to do a bit of peddling, the bikes are able to cover around 20 miles on one charge, which is enough to take you into Carlisle or Penrith and back.
Brian is a big strong dog who loves people, and is fine around small children. He is a little unpredictable around other dogs and livestock, so I always walk him on lead with a 'soft muzzle' type head harness. He is also very food driven and will steal anything left on the kitchen work surfaces! He has stolen and eaten an amazing variety of food up to and including a kilo of beef and an entire pineapple!
