First: someone/couple who can commit to the full 3.5 months. The sit begins some time between October 3rd-17th and finishes between January 16th-19th. Precise dates will be confirmed over the next week (start date could change according to sitter availability).
Second: you need to be gentle and calm. My cat was rescued a few years ago and is still nervous around noisy/unpredictable, heavy moving people. However, she is very, very affectionate once you have earnt her trust. She has to be watched carefully to make sure she is eating and sometimes protected from bullying by neighbouring cats.
Non-smoking is a must, as is a respectful attitude toward other people's treasures :-)
The two-storey house (built around sits on 1.5 acres and stays lovely and warm in winter and has a giant fireplace. Most of the neighbours speak English very well, and are very friendly with everybody watching out for each other, but in the Swedish way - meaning your will be left alone unless you make the first move.... gently.
200meters from the bus stop; buses run every 15 mins peak hour, reducing to once every hour on a Sunday. It is a 65 minute direct bus trip into the middle of Stockholm.
Ethernet is really fast and reliable. There is no landline tele and just the four local tv channels. The local village centre (5km away, 8 mins by bus) has most of what you want except for a nightlife.
This house is not for young children. The property is unfenced - and the bottom part of the land backs onto a cliff with a 3 meter drop down to a fairly busy, curvy road. The road (to get to the bus) can be slippery in winter (black ice) and there are no street lights. This part of Sweden gets pretty dark in winter but it is ever so beautiful once the snow comes.
This is a rural area and so not always easy for people who are allergic.
