My partner and I are travelling overseas for almost 8 weeks and require someone to care for our 2 cats and 3 dogs.
Our two cats Marmalade and Pedro are strictly inside cats and have their own cat run attached to the house they can go into. It is really important that our house sitters are careful with closing doors behind them etc, to ensure they do not get out. Our cats have never been outside. Because of this, we ask that no children are to visit the home while you are house sitting.
Our three rescue greyhounds are Barnaby, Georgie and Billy. Barnaby (the brindle dog) is currently in remission from cancer and lost his leg earlier this year. He takes chinese herbs as part of his diet, but they are very easy to administer. Billy and Georgie only require one walk a day, and Barnaby is happy with a walk up the street and back. The dogs do sleep in the bedroom on the floor on their own beds, but do not make a peep once the lights are out. All the good stuff you have heard about greyhounds as pets is very true - they are very easy going and get on just fine with the cats.
Our little cottage is an older style three bedroom home with aircon in the main bedroom and in the lounge, a large modern kitchen, a large back deck, a tv in the bedroom and one in the lounge, as well as wifi for you to use. Please note we do not have a home .
We are located a 10 minute walk to train station which is a 35 minute ride to the city. In the car we are about an hours drive to the Sunshine Coast and half an hour in good traffic to the city. We are located at Strathpine, Brisbane's northern suburbs. We have lots of shops and everything you need close by, and most things can be walked to, including the major shopping centre which is 12 minutes on foot.
Reliability and maturity are the key attributes we are looking for. Ideally we would like a couple, with no kids, that are home during evenings to keep the dogs company. Our beautiful greyhounds are inside whenever we are. We are looking for true animal lovers and not just people that need place to stay.
