For this winter we are looking for a responsable Spanish speaking couple to house and pet sit in our nice and comfortable colonial home set on a finca of 4 hectares with beautiful views of the mountains. We have 4 adorable dogs (3 females all spayed, 1 and male) and a very elegant female (spayed) cat.
We are living in a nice and calm rural village 20 km outside San Rafael. The village has appr. 2500 habitants and includes several shops, a bakery and some restaurants. Many of our streets are unpaved and lined with 100 year old trees. The village has a regular bus going to and from San Rafael which has more shops, banks and supermarkets.
San Rafael is 240 km south of Mendoza city with several bus companies covering this stretch almost every hour.
The finca has it's own driveway and is secluded from the main road which is at 600 meters distance. The area is very safe and the people are friendly. We are lucky to have the best neighbours in the world!
The house has big windows (all with metal bars), thick doble glazed windows and sturdy hand made wooden doors. It is a solar passive, insulated house which has the enormous advantage that it is very comfortable in winter because of the huge windows so the sun (360 days a year) warms the house. If it does get chilly there is a big Tromen woodstove and we'll leave you with enough firewood to keep you warm. Internet (through air) is available.
The dogs don't have to be walked, they do that themselves on the 4 hectares. At night they all sleep in the secluded patio where they more or less have their own (insulated) room! They just want cuddling, ball playing and their food twice a day.
The finca doesn't need any maintenance in the winter but if you want to do some garden work you are free to do so, we'll supply you with the proper tools.
