We live in the East Foothills of the Northern Sierra, in a tiny town named Cool:) Primarily a ranching community enveloped between the North, Middle and South Forks of the American River. Out our front door and you have miles of trails to run, ride-Equestrian or bike-dirt or road, white water sports to Class V, ski resorts or randonee-hence, mountains to climb and a highway said to be any motorcyclist's Dream hour drive north or south lands you an airport.
We are looking for a house sitter to watch over our 2 dogs, both of whom adopted us from 2 of our neighbors-each > 1/2 mile distance. Jesse is a 5 yr old Brittony Spaniel, Oliver, 8 yr old Jack Russell. Both run amuck and swim in our pool 3-7 times/day, depending on temps, otherwise they are in 1 of the ponds or lounging on the lawn. We have 3 11 yr. young cats, sisters, each resides in their own domicile. Nuptse in The Guest House (sleeps with Jess & Ollie), Cho La is in The Main House and Namche is in the gear room of The Barn-1/3 mile down hill.
The pool has a sweep, yet needs to be cleared of My Honey Bees, lizards, toads or water snakes. We have a fruit orchard that may require some watering, but more importantly, eaten and thinned.
The pool and driveway landscaping may need watering, but the animals far more so.
I harbour =/- 200 hummingbirds which also require 'feeding'.
All the 'kids" are in house before nightfall. We are 'pet friendly', in that I have the tendency to care for my other barn animals=skunk, racoon, red tailed fox, turkeys & coyote. CA is still experiencing a drought. It would not be uncommon to note many deer, bucks, perhaps a bear, Mt. Lion or the River Otter drifting through for water.
