My daughter and I are in the process of moving out of the country and need someone who loves animals to take care of all our rescues. We are looking for an active individual that loves the outdoors and loves dogs and cats! Preferably a vegan/vegetarian but mainly someone who will treat our pets as if they were their own. We will be in the process of transporting the pets out here with us over the period of several months.
So our pets are Baci, a giant chocolate lab who is unfortunately getting old. He is a total people lover and loves making new friends. His age is giving him leg issues and he may require a vet visit every so often for pain meds. Puppy is our younger guy (6 years old) and a bundle of energy, such a sweet boy, he loves to smuggle. He isn't a huge fan of other dogs on walks so control on the leash is important, he also has always had very bad skin allergies that are kept under control with supplements and meds if they get bad (usually just in summertime) and these allergies keep him extremely thin, so he can always eat as much as he wants :P The dogs that will need to be walked once a day. The cats, Tiki and Boo, are social and super sweet. They are both super strong and healthy. The cats and our doggies love love and will demand all your attention all day if you let them. They should always have fresh water and food available. If you would like to leave for the day you can open the dog door so they can let themselves out but make sure the cats are put inside a bedroom since they cannot be let out unless on a leash due to the coyotes in the are but if you are home, Tiki is welcome to be in the yard and Boo can be when his is on his run.
We have a cute cozy cabin (2 bedrooms,1 bath) with lots of charm in a small quiet neighborhood in the woods about 6 miles south of Flagstaff where the stars are as bright as I have ever seen them. We have a little garden in the yard you are welcome to use. Right down the street, there are tons of hiking/walking and biking trails. Flagstaff is known for its nature and hiking centered within the pines, has a great downtown with various shops and restaurants, and plenty to see with a short drive up the mountain in the Peaks. Flagstaff is also in the center of most things in the southwest. 2 hours to Phoenix, 30 min to Sedona, 1 hour and a half to the Grand Canyon and close to Snowbowl ski valley in the peaks. Great locations to explore all around us.
A car would be required as town is 6 miles up the highway. Must love animals! It is Flagstaff so you should be comfortable with snow. It is a much nicer winter here then most places and snow tends to melt pretty quickly but still be aware there will be snow. We have a woodstove that works much better than our electric heat so you should feel comfortable working that (we can show you how). During snow storms you may need to shovel the driveway (or we can hire someone to if it gets too bad). The house is pretty easy to maintain but keep it clean or pet hair tends to accumulate.
