My wife and I (both retired) are planning a fairly lengthy trip to Canada, from mid-December to mid-January We are leaving on December 14 in the afternoon, so the sit would begin on December 13 (so we can show you around). We will return in the evening of January 14th, so you would be welcome to stay until the 15th.
We have a home with a large fenced yard. We live upstairs. We have an set up downstairs, but it would not be used at all during our absence.
We have one standard poodle (Cody), male, about 70 pounds, very friendly and easy to care for. No ther pets. Requirements are only to feed and water Cody, show him some love; let Cody out and in as needed. Cody does not need to be walked as he gets plenty of exercise in our large yard. The plants in the house should be OK, as we will water them before departing.
We are about 11 miles west of Asheville, so there is a whole lot to do and see and experience here - a prime tourist destination.
The house is on a long driveway lane with 3 houses, ours is the last one. Heavily wooded. The home has two decks on our level - one by the entrance, one by the kitchen. The home is heated and air-conditioned as needed (heat pump). Normal home amenities (kitchen, full bath, comfortable beds, two bedrooms up, wifi, smart tv, Roku, etc.)
Google "Asheville" - you will see what a wealth of fun activities we have to offer, whatever your interests.
Mail will be stopped. Waste collection once a week, on Monday.
That's it! Sure to be an enjoyable stay if you can manage it.
