We have two beautiful little dogs. Pearl is a 6 lb Chihuaua. Scooby is a seventeen year old Shih tzu. We love them
both very much and their comfort and happiness is paramount to us.
I am Australian but I live in California. Until recently we had a dear friend who cared for both our dogs so my husband
and I could return to Australia for six months a year. Our friend has sadly passed on. I am looking for animal lovers.
A person or couple who will genuinely care for our pets during our time home in OZ. It would be ideal to have the
same person or couple stay here for 5 to 5 1/2 months.
The dogs are extremely easy to care for. We walk them four times a day. Usually once around a short block each
morning and evening and a quick potty break at lunch and before bedtime. Scooby sleeps most of the time because
of his advancing age. Pearl likes to play with toys if a carer will play with her and she loves to be on a lap
whenever possible. They have two meals a day and a treat mid morning and even though they don't have watches
they know exactly what time it is. Scooby requires eye drops each night for “Dry Eye”.
We live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We are ninety minutes from Lake Tahoe and forty
minutes east of Sacramento. We are surrounded by wine country. The Town Centre is minutes away and walking
trails are abundant. (I am including the link to the EI Dorado Chamber of Commerce ). There are many really good restaurants, concerts, farmers’ markets and seasonal activities to enjoy.

away. For those who enjoy snow sports EI Dorado Hills is a great location for proximity to ski areas.
Our home sits on a green belt overlooking a picturesque gulley with lots of Oak trees and Aspen and a rushing
stream in Winter and Spring. The pool and hot tub enjoy the same aspect and it is common at night to see Screech
owls flying by and during the day to be eye level with Red Tail and Coopers Hawks. There are trails everywhere.
We intend to keep a housekeeper every two weeks but expect whomever stays here to respect and appreciate our
home. The yard is small and a gardener will care for most of it weekly although if frost is an issue we ask that the
carer covers all exposed plants with frost cloths ... not difficult at all.
The dogs love the car so if you need to go somewhere and they are begging for an outing I just pop their beds in with
a couple of blankets if chilly and they'll be happy.
