We are located a 15 minute drive up the hill from Penticton in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. The house is unique design, with floor to ceiling windows and has been built using mostly reclaimed materials. Stunning views over the city of Penticton and the surrounding mountains.
We are looking for responsible individuals (or a winter loving family) who are comfortable dealing with lots of snow. We are at approximately 2200 feet of elevation and can get quite a bit of snow in December/January. A vehicle with winter tires is required by law to drive up the hill and all wheel drive or 4x4 is *highly* recommended. The driveway leads downhill from the road with four switchbacks. Being comfortable driving in the snow is essential.
Ability to operate a quad with a blade to plow the driveway would be a huge asset.
The house uses a wood burner which creates all of the hot water. The house is heated by in floor heating, so it is important to keep the wood burner full and running - this is your most important job!
We are approx. 1 hour away from two great ski hills - Apex and Baldy. Big White Resort up in Kelowna is approx 2 hours away.
There is one master bedroom with an ensuite full bathroom. There is another full bathroom (with steam shower!) downstairs. There is a King sized bed in the master bedroom with floor to ceiling windows so you can look out over the valley from town and watch the winter storms roll through. There is also a large tub, again with views of the mountains!
Up above the garage there is a 'flex space' where another bed can be set up. There is a half bathroom here as well. This space could also be used for yoga, as an art studio etc. As with the rest of the house, there a beautiful views.
Our dog Willy is 8 years old and very well behaved. He and our cat Geordie get along great - they often sleep together! Willy loves to go for walks, although he likes his jacket on when it is cold out!
We have a few plants in the house for the winter that will need light watering.
