We are looking for a quiet, tidy, responsible non smoking, no drugs like-minded person or couple who are genuinely fond of cats to care for Norton, our senior kitty as well as care for the house and keep it neat and clean.

Norton is a quiet cat, he can be aloof and does suffer from abandonment issues.
We are looking for someone with a genuine love for cats, someone caring and compassionate. Norton is a rescue cat who has been with us since he was 8 days old. In the past year he has lost both his kitty companions, Phaedra a year ago and Chia, just 3 weeks ago..

We have a beautiful home in a picturesque location with views of both the mountains and lake. .
Nelson itself is a small town of approximately 10,000 people. We live just  outside the town and although there are buses a car would be needed.

Nelson sits on the West Arm of Kootenay Lake, nestled in the rugged Selkirk Mountains of southeastern British Columbia. We are located in the beautiful West Kootenay region, halfway between Vancouver and Calgary. Nelson is within a 30 minute drive from the City of Castlegar & it's small regional airport.

Thanks to the mild climate, you can ski without freezing in the winter and fish without scorching in the summer. This makes Nelson a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts. The terrain and abundant snow make for amazing skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and snowshoeing in the winter. As the snow melts away in the spring, the landscape becomes a mecca for golfing, hiking, fishing, climbing, mountain biking and bird watching.

My sister who has pretty much skied all of Europe and North America, describes the skiing conditions in Nelson as 'Perfect powder'
A daily shuttle (fee) takes skiers daily to Whitewater from various locations in town. Winter tyres are recommended if you plan on doing the drive yourself.

The house is large and we think rather special, we have lovely views and at night you can see the twinkling lights of Nelson which is less than a 10 minute drive away.

Norton is an indoor cat, you will need to clean his litter boxes daily and supply fresh water and food. Water some houseplants and if it snows keep the driveway clear.

The assignment would not suit everyone, as you need to be prepared for winter driving conditions
