Why we’re looking for a Housesitter
Hello to you. I am looking for a regular cat sitter for our beautiful pusscat Tibby (one person please, not a couple) - as while we don't go away that often, when we do want to visit friends and family for a night or two, and then for a longer holiday, it would be great to know that she is settled and happy at home, with someone familiar. We adopted Tibby two years ago, and while she is now very relaxed in her cosy new home - as you can see! - she is still a little fearful and needs the reassurance of a known human being to keep her happy and content.
A little about our home
We have a pretty, modern home in the historic, picturesque and eclectic market town of Totnes, in the very beautiful South Hams area of Devon. Within a few minutes' walk of our front door you can be enjoying the delights of the bustling high street, with its unusual collection of shops and cafes - or equally strolling along the banks of the River Dart and into deep country. The sea lies 20 minutes' drive in one direction, and the moor the same distance in the other. Dartmouth, Salcombe and Exeter - to name a few of the local destinations - are a little further away, and there is no shortage of things to do in the area, whether cultural, educational, sporty, adventurous, or just simply pleasurable (we have some of the best local and organic food of every kind around here - and wineries too). It's a small piece of paradise!
Our house is clean, modern, warm and inviting. It is very safe and secure (not that crime is much of an issue here) and easy to enjoy. The bedroom you would have is light and comfortable, with a bed that anyone visiting always seems to find very hard to leave in the morning ... and big enough to comfortably accommodate you, and perhaps a friendly little pusscat who will probably want to curl up with you for the night, once she gets to know you!
Your responsibilities when you’re here
Your primary responsibility will of course be Tibby - feeding and watering her twice a day (or as needed); attending to her litter tray; spending time with her, and stroking, brushing and playing with her (as she requires...). Otherwise the house just needs to be kept as clean as you found it, secure, and cared for - and enjoyed :-)).
