We are a couple who have been running a holiday business in southern Spain for the last fifteen years, but are now retired and living in the UK. We are looking for a couple to care for our property and animals ( doves and fish) whilst we are away.
Our property is situated in inland Granada province, midway between the cities of Granada and Malaga. Our nearest village (2.5 km by track from the mill) is Zagra which has bars, restaurants and shops and is 17km north of the larger town of Loja. There is very detailed information on our site ( need a couple to look after our mini village of seven properties in total, to enjoy the facilities it has (gym, wifi, large pool, abundant wildlife, walks and tranquillity) and to care for our animals. The ability to speak some Spanish is desirable but not essential as is a knowledge of gardening. The right people will have a can do attitude to maintenance and fixing any problems.
We are looking for a cheerful and proactive couple who will make the most of this opportunity and enjoy and respect our home and its beautiful setting. We provide a vehicle for house sitters' use and their accommodation is in the 19th century millhouse with large well equipped kitchen, underfloor heating, woodburner and pretty walled garden.
Our present sitters have sadly had a family health emergency which means they are having to leave at short notice, but they will be there to do a thorough handover to the new sitters. So we apologise for the short notice but hope the right people will be able to act quickly to make the most of this opportunity.
- Birds: We have 8 white doves who are fed twice a day and require a simple care regime.
- Fish: Outdoors we have a small pond in our courtyard garden stocked with goldfish who need feeding once a day but only when active. During the colder months they must not be fed. The pond may need topping up with water occasionally, but apart from that they are low maintenance, not needing walks or to be entertained.
