Bella, lovable 7 yr old female miniature, long hair Dachshund, lives in beautiful colonial San Miguel de Allende, a city full of festivals, art, music, and lovely people. We live in a townhouse, with 2 bedrooms and one bath (shower). Described as Bohemian by some, and Mexican decor by me. Double bed in room with balcony. Twin beds pushed together,, as king sized in the next room.Ample cooking supplies. Maid and gardner come once a week. Gas, electric, washing machine, ceiling fans, heaters supplied. Close to the Instituto, weekend farmers markets, arts and crafts markets, groceries (orgnic and other), meat and vegetable stores and numerous restaurants. 15 minute (for me) walk to Jardin. Bus stops on my corner. Small restaurant, pharmacy, ice cream store, laundry, UPS, stores minutes away, as is St. Paul's where many plays and concerts take place. Bella requires more love than anythiing. She does her business on a tray on the enclosed patio.(I leave the door open for her). She does like to go on walks, and she attracts a lot of attention. But her little legs are short and sometimes she gets tired. She gets anxious when the bells start ringing in the Jardin, but is doing better. I usually like to walk away when they start. There are 10 townhouses behind locked doors, with room for parking inside. Mostly Canadian and US ex pats. Very friendly. If you get up early, you can go out on the porch and eat your breakfast and drink coffee with the other neighbors(even in your pajamas). People come and go-we are that age, you know-some places are rented out periodically. A nice group of people and all of them are nice to Bella and allow her to come visit them on her morning outings. Just have to watch to see that the outside door and garage doors are closed. I don't let her go out alone or really visit much. Belle sleeps with me, but can and will sleep on one of her many beds on the floor beside you. Honestly, if I leave, sometimes she uses the bathroom where she shouldn't-shows me whose boss. I close all doors and put chairs on the sofas she she won't get on them. I don't have any rugs down. You won't want to leave her when your time is up. I hate to go off and leave her myself.
