We have booked a trip last minute and hope to find a sitter for Nov 3-17, 2017.
We are a family of four (2 teenage children) with two delightful 13" beagles and two budgies. Our dogs are very friendly toward people and dogs, and even cats! The male is 2 yrs and is mischevious and extremely affection. The female is 6 yrs and is sweet and gentle, and loves a cuddle on her terms. Both dogs are very healthy. We live in Lynn Valley located in North Vancouver that is a suburb of Vancouver, BC. Busing to downtown Vancouver takes 30 min and driving is approx 20.
Lynn Valley is reknowned for the mountains that surround it and easy access to numerous walking/hiking and mountain bike trails along with three local ski mountains. Walking dogs in the trails is lovely and peaceful, and we spend many hours enjoying it. Beautiful canyons with crystal clear rivers are minutes away and the Vancouver Harbour and beaches are less than 10 minutes from our home. Lynn Canyon is a popular tourist attraction and is an easy minute walk from our home. The mountains, rivers and oceans are literally our playgrounds. A large shopping area is a 15 minute walk from our home including a large library and lots of other amenities. A second centre is close by and has amenities and a movie theatre.
We live in a single family home with two levels sq ft) on a beautiful large safe crescent in a neighbourhood that is considered very desirable and safe, and full of families. We have a very large garden but there is no need for you to maintain it when we are away. Our home backs onto the forest, we are located between two large canyons and often wildlife is on our street including racoon, deer and sometime a bear. Don't worry, it is safe. The backyard is fully fenced and secured for our dogs to enjoy and be safe however we do walk them twice daily (30 minutes minimum for each walk) to keep them in good condition and less mess in the yard. The dogs must be on leash at all times. Beagles are strong scent dogs and follow their noses no matter where it takes them and can get lost. They are fed twice daily.
The birds require little maintenance. Clean their cage twice a week and provide them daily with a tiny piece of fruit or vegetable to nibble on along with seed and water. We let them out daily to stretch their wings in a small room but we don't expect our sitters to do it.
Hope to hear from you. Thanks
