We are both homeowners and house sitters on this site and hope to find some nice, friendly folks to mind our house while we travel. Maybe you are looking for your first house sit and that all-important reference for this site. We are looking for a mature individual or couple who enjoys nature and the quiet country life. Sitter must be non-smoker and respect that this is a fragrance-free and mostly chemical-free household. There is one lovely cat and you may expect visiting wild critters. We  would like you to check in every other day to let us know how everything is going, how our cat is doing and especially if something goes wonky.

Roxie requires the usual cat care: feeding, brushing, playing, cuddles, scooping. She may be cautious initially but soon warms up. She will want to sleep with you. She can be left all day when you want to explore.

Home & Location

Overlooking picturesque Douglas Harbour, our retirement home is a comfortable, sunny bungalow with all the modern amenities. It is located in a very quiet, rural area (but not isolated) 45 minutes outside the capital city of Fredericton which has a full range of services. There is a convenience store / gas bar within walking distance and a community hall which offers some recreational activities such as yoga and cards. The 2-queen bedrooms, 2-baths home has an office, WiFi, 2 satellite TVs, BBQ, 1500 book library, weekly cleaning service. There may be a few plants to water, trash and recyclables to put out for pick up.

It would be great if you could restock our little free library once or twice a week.

There is abundant wildlife to be seen on the six acre property such as, deer, fox, coyotes, raccoons, occasional moose and large variety of birds including eagles, hawks and owls. Binoculars supplied!

For day trips, we are within 1 ½ hours driving distance to the shopping mecca of Moncton and the historic port city of Saint John. There is no local transportation so we supply a car if you are flying in.

The robins arrive in March and the daffodils are springing up. Expected  day time temperatures in April can reach 10 C or 50 F.

We would like you to arrive on April 2/3 and depart April depending on our mutual travel plans.

We will also consider splitting the sit in two.
