Ann Arbor has been rated the #1 town for living in the USA--a great place for food, music, and university life. We are seeking a sitter (or couple) for at least 3 weeks (up to a few months), preferably starting in early-mid January. Our dates are flexible.
We have fostered many cats and currently have two indoor cats of our own: Maxwell and Patience. Maxwell is active and likes to play, while Patience is very shy and keeps to herself.
Our cozy home has a large backyard and is in a quiet neighborhood. You'll have access to the entry-level floor of our home: two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, comfortable sitting area, and small backyard. We have a driveway where you can park your car, if you bring one. Please note that we do not have a TV. We have great wifi and thus just stream anything we want to watch. We're about a 15 minute drive from the main University of Michigan campus and downtown. Right in our neighborhood there is a lovely coffee shop and a serene walking trail through the woods. Within a 5-7 minute drive you can find everything you need: gas, grocery store, walk-in medical clinic and restaurants.
Our needs are fairly simple: keep Maxwell and Patience company, take care of feeding and litter box stuff, keep us updated every so often on how they are doing.
Our cats won't do well with other animals, so we are looking for housesitters who travel without pets of their own.
Ann Arbor is a small town with big city amenities. You can find here some famous foodie places, especially in the Kerrytown area downtown. The University of Michigan Musical Society on campus attracts world-class performers. Southeast Michigan has great places to explore. Downtown Detroit is about 45 minutes away by car, and it's going through a fascinating renaissance right now: restaurants, concerts, art, waterfront, and architecture. We're also about 45 minutes from the Canadian border.
Thank you for considering our home. We're happy to answer any questions you may have. We might also be interested in a home exchange.
