I am looking for a neat, caring cat lover who wants to explore the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area. You must be very reliable and able to follow a few instructions for house and cat care. Also, you must be a non-smoker!
My townhouse (approx sq. ft.) is an end unit that backs up onto a nature reserve wetland. It has a large living room/dining room, kitchen with new, gourmet appliances, master bedroom and bath, den/second bedroom, loft and another 1.5 baths. It is in excellent condition and very comfortably furnished. Visitors often comment that it creates a "happy and relaxed" space. A desktop computer and printer are available along with high speed wifi, and the TV has Apple TV and subscriptions to several other entertainment services. My home also has a 2-car attached garage.
My home is located between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI in Lake County, Illinois. Nearby communities offer small town amenities, and the area offers access to lakes (including Michigan), forest preserves as well as shopping, theater, movies, etc. The commuter train to Chicago (an hour away) and all that it has to offer is just a few minutes away.
Your responsibilities include feeding, playing and cuddling with the kitties and keeping the cat box clean and tidy. Both Kira and Percy are healthy and well-adjusted. House chores are pretty uncomplicated: keep the house clean, water the plants, bring in the mail and set the garbage and recyclables out each week. If any unusual problems occur, we are available by and . Additionally, a back-up pet sitter is available if you want/need to be gone for more than 24 hours, and a relative lives within 20 minutes and is on call in a pinch.
I prefer someone who is able to stay in the house for as much of the time I will be gone as possible. However, I am willing to match several shorter term sitters to cover the duration as well as fill in with my local pet sitter in between.
