We don't have any pets - just a lovely, easy-care home and small garden. You might also have to check on the beach daily, just a 100m stroll to the sand. Fishing rods are needed.
We are heading west for some slow driving and camping and would feel so much happier if we could find the right people to keep an eye on the house and do a little garden maintenance. Our kind neighbours would take over if you need to get away occasionally, but we might well have to force you out when we return!
Toogoom is a small place, about 11 kms and an easy drive to Hervey Bay and the nearest supermarket. Three local restaurants and some small shops are closer but still too far to walk. We can see Fraser Island from our beach and whale watching season starts in July. Being in the Wide Bay area, the weather is milder and the bities fewer than up north, winters are easy to bear, summers are humid, and the seawater is warm and shallow.
Our house has everything you need for enjoying an outdoors life: verandas surround the house, louvre windows, fans and two airconditioners keep us cool. A hobby farm sits at our back fence, and you might be woken by a few sheep or goats bleating, when the kookaburras haven't already bellowed out their morning welcome.
The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large living area opening onto the back veranda and BBQ area.
We plan to be away for up to a year if all goes well.
