Our home is a warm and inviting Craftsman style bungalow built in 1911. The home has many of its original touches, like leaded glass windows, built-ins, unpainted wood wainscoting, a box beam ceiling in the dining room, and picture mouldings. Since we purchased the house, we have added a master suite, remodeled the kitchen, and finished most of the basement in keeping with the traditional style of the house.
We have a beautiful yard with a large deck in the back and a nice covered porch in the front. Our adorable cat, Bonkers (he lives up to the name) is an indoor cat who loves affection and food.
We live in the awesome Mount Tabor neighborhood in inner SE Portland, just off of vibrant Hawthorne Boulevard. Within walking distance of our house are plenty of shopping opportunities, as well as all kinds of restaurants -- from Portland's famous food carts and brewpubs to some of the city's finest dining establishments.
Mount Tabor city park is less than ten blocks away and features tennis courts, walking/jogging/bicycle trails, outdoor concerts, Geocaches, and spectacular city & mountain views. We are also just about four miles from downtown Portland; you can easily walk downtown or get there via the public bus. Our house is just three blocks away from the most frequent bus line in the city, and busses run about every 10 minutes.
Portland is a fun and vibrant city with lots to do for people who love food and drink, the arts and entertainment scene and/or the outdoors.
For those looking for outdoor adventure, Mt. Hood, Oregon's highest peak at 11,250', offers summer hiking and mountain biking as well as winter skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. It's just about an hour's drive east from our house. The gorgeous Oregon Coast is less than a two hour drive away as well.
We'd ask that you feed Bonkers each day, give him plenty of attention, and clean his litter boxes regularly.
