PENDING - We are looking for a house sitter (single or couple, non-smoker) in Kirkland, WA (near Seattle) while we are gone for 10 days to keep an eye on things and help care for our dog and cat.
We have a very mellow, sweet, senior, female lab/golden mix who only needs one moderate walk (or as we call it, a sniff and stroll), or two shorter walks, a day. We also have a beautiful, 4-year old, indoor-only, Maine coon mix cat who is fairly energetic and needs to have a daily play session(s). She loves to cuddle, but ONLY on her terms, otherwise she can be a little feisty. She is quite entertaining. We have all their feeding, daily routine, vet and emergency contact information, etc. to provide.
Other than loving and caring for our fur-kids, the only requirements will be to water a couple of indoor plants once and pick up the weekly local paper that gets tossed in our driveway. Otherwise we hope you can enjoy all that our location has to offer.
Our house is older, but bright and is in a great location in the West of Market (aka Market) neighborhood, with a lake view and within a 5-10 minute walk to all the parks, restaurants, and amenities that downtown Kirkland is known for. We have a wonderful deck to enjoy on sunny days, and you are welcome to bikes if desired. We are also only a block from the bus route to downtown Seattle.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks.
For those who aren't familiar with the Seattle area, in 2014 Kirkland was named one of the top five places in the U.S. to live by Money Magazine. It is known for having it's downtown on the waterfront, the amount of lake access via it's numerous waterfront parks, lots of great dining options, it's outdoor public art, its Performing Arts Center, etc., not to mention being the original headquarters for Costco and hence the namesake for the Kirkland Signature brand. In the summer the lake (Lake Washington) is warm enough to swim in and there are paddleboard and kayak rentals nearby. We are also located minutes from spectuclar hiking in the Cascade mountains, and minutes from good skiing in the winter. Five miles down the road is downtown Bellevue with it's Bellevue Square and Lincoln Center shopping centers, and the Bellevue Art Museum and lots of great dining. Downtown Seattle is a 20 minute drive (in good traffic) or about a 40 minute bus ride.
