This former bed & breakfast is in the town of Volcan in the beautiful Chiriqui Highlands of western Panama. Lots of pictures under Casa Volcan in Facebook. There's one small dog and one cat to look after, both young and healthy. There's a gardener and a maid who each come once a week. We're at 1400 m altitude and the temperatures are moderate, rarely going below 10 C at night or above 26 C in the day time. The nearest airport is a small one in David, Panama. It has regular connections to both Panama city airports and also connects to San Jose Costa Rica. David is Panama's second largest city, recently surpassing Colon and has good shopping, although most shopping needs can be met in Volcan and the typical expat only shops in David once or twice a month. My car, a 2004 Rexton with a Mercedes diesel engine, will be at your disposal. All Panmanian gas stations carry diesel which is usually a few cents cheaper than regular gas. Although the car is fairly large and can be switched to 4-wheel drive, it's also economical and has good power to handle the hills and high clearance for rough roads. There is a steep slope and climbing stairs is necessary to get around. Lots of plants and trees and veggies and herbs growing in a greenhouse.
