I am headed to MN to help friends who are in the midst of a health crisis. I will be headed out second week in April and expected return is mid to late July for a short stopover. I then leave for Maui to a yearly sit.
I live in a large house(5 BR/3 BA) with a large fenced yard. One geriatric loving dog and three very individual cats. All are rescues with very individual personalities. Half mile away are the horses and the "Assassins", 3 formerly feral cats who take their duties very seriously. While they won't be on your official duty list, a love and knowledge of horses are a huge plus. Dante is a one horse comedy act. He is also broke and a fun horse to ride. Snacks are the way to his heart. Finn and MnM are his two yo, gelded sons. Nikki(3 yo), his daughter and Hannah(2 yo), his grand-daughter.
The horses and Assassins have someone tending them. Again, not on yout must do list, but if you love and have real knowledge of horses, and care to spend time at the barn, a HUGE plus.
The dog is older and has meds morning and night. She is cooperative, so not hard. They will want to sleep with you. The boxer is an escape artist. The cats..... Miss Addy is the queen of the roost. She is recovering from a recent very traumatic attack. It is a slow road. Matilda desperately wants to play. Olaf comes and goes as he pleases.
They all thrive on routine and attention.
It will be a crazy time with my travel schedule and that of the rest of the family. My two adult sons live in the basement, one works for the airlines and has whacky work hours. The other has a girlfriend and is rarely home(and has NO animal care experience).. My husband, airport police, has him working at 4a.m.. He will also be coming out to Minnesota as time permits.
WHAT THIS SIT OFFERS: The "west" wing which consists of two bedrooms(only one open at the moment), and bath along with full use of the mail n floor(livingroom/kitchen/dining/sunroom/laundry). Endless opportunity for day trips(maybe even an overnight) to Yellowstone Park, Cody, museums, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, fishing, rafting, history all around. The adventures are only limited by your imagination! TV/wi-fi/fireplace to curl up to when the weather is ghastly. Willingness to do yard work(riding mower) and water external plants, a big plus.
May have a car to use???
If this sounds like a good fit, drop a line! I leave about 4/12.
