We are looking for someone to sit our house and take care of our cats and plants. First of all Huatulco is hot, the beaches are beautiful, the people are nice. There are nature reserves and tours. Huatulco is also a sea turtle area. Our house is in a quiet Mexican neighborhood. We live in a nice area called Cha Hue, it is quiet and residential and safe.
We are near the beaches. My favorite beach, Santa Cruz, is about 5 minutes away by Taxi for $1.50. It is also the one where the cruise boats land. I like it because it is one of the most swim-able beaches in the area. The waves are small and we don't have much in the way of currents. There are other beaches that are more touristed. Santa Cruz is mellow, safe, and a great family beach.
We are a few minutes by car or minutes walking distance from a big grocery store that caters to tourists (meaning it has good prices, a wide selection of products, and many imported foods and goods). We are also minutes walk to the downtown area where the town square is.
We have 5 lovely cats, who are very shy, and who spend their nights outside in our fenced-in patio. They come in the morning, and spend the day sleeping inside, where it is cooler. The cats have their own indoor area. We scoop litter twice a day, and there are no cat smells in our home. We also have potted plants that require daily watering (watering takes 5-7 mins).
The space is a good sized one-bedroom house with a washer, and a clothes line. Clothes dry completely in a couple hours here. Our place is nice, by our standards, but it is not a fancy vacation rental with granite countertops. We have a limited kitchen set-up. Huatulco is a desert area, and the water pressure is low in Mexican neighborhoods. We are walking distance to Crucecita and the town square. There is lots to see and do. We are in walking distance of a lot of things. You can also take a Taxi in anywhere in and around town for 30 pesos (roughly $1.50 USD).
There are at least nine different beaches in Bahias de Huatulco. Our neighbors are very nice on both sides, and are fairly quiet. They do have dogs that bark at the occasional passer-by.
We require a non-smoking sitter. We are LGBT friendly. People sometimes confuse "Bahias de Huatulco" where we live, with "Santa Maria de Huatulco" which is about 30 minutes further inland. Bahias de Huatulco includes Crucecita, Santa Cruz de Huatulco, and Tangolunda which are all close together and pretty much right on the ocean. We have high-speed wifi. We do not own a TV; though cable does come with our internet package.
Please tell us about yourself and why you think you might be a good fit for this housesit.
