We have a beautiful herd of cattle, usually head. We love them dearly, but having cattle is inhibiting our ability to travel. We are looking for house sitters that are comfortable handling cattle: feed and water in the winter, fence care and checking, handle the herd if any of them get out, generally taking responsibility for our herd while we are gone. We have many supportive neighbors as we live in a really unique and wonderful cohousing community called Heartwood Cohousing, but none of our neighbors are really in a position to assume full care in our absence. We also have 5 llamas, and sometimes pigs and turkeys- their care is much simpler
Jack is a true cattle whisperer. Works part-time as an investor and sometimes drives a truck for local companies. I (Ronda) am a semi-retired nurse practitioner- raised on a dairy farm in Ohio. We do not want to give up our herd, but it's that time of life when travel is an absolute top priority for us.
We live in the beautiful Durango area in SW Colorado: skiing, hiking, biking mecca of the world. It's a great place to visit and your time will be even more enhanced by the opportunity to be at Heartwood, where we have endless trails and forests, a tennis court, hot tub, community meals, lots of opportunities to make new friends and experience community life.
