I've got two cats, Kluts and Muts, who love to cuddle and love to have someone home.
My red tom cat Kluts is quite old (16) even though he doesn't act nor looks like it. He's a talkative and social being that loves to be with you. My Tortoiseshell female cat Muts will be coy at first, but will shower you with love as soon as she gets to know you.
Specifications for taking care:
FOOD
I give them soft food twice a day. Kluts can digest it better and he loves it.
There is always kibble in a dispenser. Muts actually prefers it, so don't get stressed when she won't eat the soft food and Kluts gobbles it.
MEDICINE
Kluts needs his medicine twice a day: 1 pill in the morning, 2 at night. He has a thyroid gland problem, that's why he's so skinny.
OUTSIDE
Muts is allowed to go outside and can get in by the programmed catflap.
Kluts is allowed outside too. But the problem is, he's curious and will walk into people's houses. Sometimes he's let out on the street, not back to the back yard, and won't be able to find his way back home from the street side. So rather be safe than sorry: it's better to keep him inside, even when he protests like an Chewbacca.
OTHER
The litter box needs to be cleaned regularly.
PLUS
It would be great if you water the plants.
As I mentioned, I have a ground floor appartment. It is set in a quiet part of the Baarsjes.
It's an 30 minutes walk from the center of Amsterdam and public transport will bring you where ever you want in minutes.
