We have a lovely, gentle 13 year old Wheaten Terrier, Abbey, and our priority is to find a reliable sitter to take excellent care of her while we are away .
Abbey will make frequent trips to the backyard during the day, to run around and keep an eye on the squirrels. Given her age and backyard activity, she has given up her morning walk, but she still requires an evening walk before she settes in for the night. She also has medication (pills) to be administered every 8 hours, which she willing takes with a little cheese. This is for seizures which she had in 2019 on two occasions, and fortunately the meds have kept the seizures from happening since then. In the last two years, she has occasionally developed ailments that have required attention, but fortunately there has been no ongoing cronic illnesses. She is slowing down due to some joint soreness and arthritis. We would like a sitter that has experience with older dogs.
Our home is in a upscale neighbourhood, close to the airport, parks and public transit. In summer, we have a pool that will require periodic upkeep, and a garden that requires watering. Winter in Canada will involve snow falls, so we request that any snow be cleared from the driveway and walkway. Otherwise we kindly ask that the house be left as you found it - and the cleanliness of the house be maintained.
Our key requirement is a reliable trustworthy individual or couple, with references, that we can trust with our home and who will take good care of our dear pet. I will provide all details after making contact with the potential caregiver.
