Semi-detached Victorian house with lovely views of the Exe estuary and the Haldon Hills beyond. Well decorated with modern kitchen and bathroom. Small balcony overlooking the long garden, again with Estuary views. 5 minute walk to Exmouth town centre and minute walk to beach, marina and estuary.
We have 2 dogs; Harry who is a golden retriever and Jack who is a Jack Russell. Harry is very friendly and Jack generally is but can be a bit grumpy with other dogs so is normally kept on a lead when walked. Jack is also grumpy if accidentally trodden on (as I have done occasionally) so just to be safe I put a muzzle on him when my young grand children are visiting The house sit is probably therefore not suitable for families with young children.
The dogs like a walk every day, particularly Harry who loves the beach and the sea! However, it doesn't always have to be a long walk. The dogs need letting out during the day but can be left for up to 6-7 hours at a time. If our house sitter needed to occasionally be away for longer than this we could make arrangements for someone to visit to let the dogs out.
We also have 3 cats, all of whom are friendly and love a fuss. We have a cat flap so 2 of the cats come and go as they please. One of them however is quite elderly and is on medication for a thyroid problem. Unfortunately however she doesn't always use her litter tray so sometimes has 'accidents' on our wooden floor (which are easy to clear up). We are working on this!
Apart from walking the dogs, picking up after them, feeding the animals and changing the litter tray regularly, we haven't got any other expectations from a house sitter other than keeping the house reasonably tidy. We would ask however that no one smokes in the house.
We have 2 cycles that we are happy for housesitters to use.
