Seeking a trustworthy and experienced pet sitter so that I may visit my 94 yo mother in another part of the country (first trip since pre-COVID). My small home is an open concept design with one bedroom. It is bright and airy, with southern exposure and a large balcony. This is a community of active seniors. And, as is the purpose of this listing, I share my space with 2 indoor cats.
Amenities include the wharf, art room, gym, small library & "commonhouse". If interested in the social experience of living here you might join the daily coffee group, Wednesday soup lunch, occasional Sunday brunches, Friday games night, Sunday movie night, 1st Saturday of the month work-bee, and occasionally other activities organized by members. Supermarkets and pharmacies are within walking distance, the recreation centre & pool are 5 min drive, and Victoria is about an hour away by car. If you wish to explore all the beautiful beaches and trails in the region, having your own vehicle is recommended. There is bus service to Victoria.
The cats are fed 2 -3 times per day. The Bengal is very talkative and always ready to escape; his Main Coon sister is easy going and more playful. Both are affectionate, though neither likes to be held. They both have some bad habits (don't we all?) that I'll of course explain if you are going to ccome look after them. Bonus: No litter boxes to deal with, as both cats are "toilet" trained.
My travel dates and time away are not yet set as this trip is contingent upon finding a pet-sitter. I will arrange comfortable accommodation one day before my departure in order to facilitate your orientation to place & pets. (If needed, I can also arrange accommodation for the night following my return).
My ideal person/s will be older, exprienced with pets, non-smoker/s, and have their own permanent home. Yet please feel free to apply if this description isn't quite you (with the exception that it is a non-smoking property).
Thank you for considering this house/cat sit!
Marisa
