We are Dom and Cemal, a Franco-Turkish couple in their 40s based in the beautiful Datça peninsula near Marmaris, in south-west Turkey.
We live in the sea-side village of Mesudiye, 18 km from Datça town. We are looking for ultra-reliable sitters to keep an eye on our place and look after our pets for 3 weeks while we are away, starting around the 25th of December (flexible). We have extensive experience as house and pet sitters ourselves and would prefer people with some experience too.
We have a male rottweiler mix who is very gentle and listens quite well. We also feed quite a lot of feral cats (at least 10). They are not allowed inside except for our beloved house cat. The animals need love and attention and to be fed dry food twice a day, morning and evening. The dog will appreciate do go on a walk with you from time to time. No garden work.
Accommodation: you will have your own self-contained, one-bedroom wooden bungalow with kitchen and bathroom, so you are welcome to arrive earlier and leave later. There is the wi-fi.
The property is within ten to fifteen min walk to two beaches. It is a quiet, safe and natural environment that will appeal to nature lovers. The village is quite sleepy in winter, it has a small grocery shop and some restaurants might still be opened. The nearest supermarket is in the village of Palamutbuku, 9 km away, and the nearest city is Datça, 18 km, which has big supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and a couple of nice bars. There are minibus services to and from Datça several times a day, but you will enjoy the area more if you have your own car. We kindly request that you spend every night at the property.
Winter in Datça is not very cold but it can be rainy and stormy at times. We also have some beautiful, sunny days.
