We are looking for a house sitter, primarily to look after our house, dog and two cats during the winter. None of this should be particularly arduous, thus giving you plenty of time in which to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Ariege and the Pyrenees in SW France.
So a great opportunity, probably best for a couple, to enjoy a special place to live, a wonderful change from the restrictions of Covid and the opportunity to work from abroad, or perhaps have the peace and quiet to write that book in an inspiring location, or pursue a hobby / passion such as painting or photography, or simply to enjoy an extended holiday / stay in a beautiful unspoilt, unpoluted part of the world.
Our dog is a very gentle and loving labrador cross, aged 12 or 13 (we think - he is rescue dog) and our two cats aged 17 and 3 are very independent and just need feeding twice a day.
Our property is a large one, but most of it revolves around a holiday business, but these are currently closed, so will not require any work from the housesitter - nor will the garden for the majority of the time; in spring, when the garden starts to 'wake up', it would be helpful to keep the grass cut. The house consists of a large open plan kitchen, sitting room, snug with a wood burner, together with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The Ariege is one of France's best kept secrets with incredibly beautiful countryside and peacefulness. The views towards the Pyrenees from our property are magnificent. At the same time however, we are only a hour from Toulouse which is one of France's most vibrant cities - the best of both worlds.
