We are looking for a house and cat sitter for approximately 15 weeks from July 19 to October 31, 2021. We would like someone to care for our two cats, Shadow and Twilight, while we are away. Duties would include tending to the cats who primarily stay inside the house and tending to our home. We live in the Point Loma section of San Diego with a beautiful view over San Diego Bay and downtown. We are centrally located for numerous local attractions including the beaches, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park museums and many more. This is a foot friendly neighborhood with many fine restaurants, cafes, seafood outlets and everything thing else you need such as grocery store, drug store, ATMs, post office and the San Diego Yacht Club within a 15-minute walk. From the house you can take walks along beautiful San Diego Bay. Within a two-hour drive are the mountains with many parks and the quaint old-western town of Julian known for its apple pies and gold mine, the Anza Borrega desert, Palm Springs, Los Angles and Tijuana, Mexico.
There would be two periods when my husband will be home by himself and will stay in the third bedroom with its own bathroom. During these periods you are welcome to remain using the house or could use the period for a side trip to explore California or further. These two periods are:
1) approximately Aug 27 evening arrival until Sep 3 with morning departure (6 days /7 nights)
2) Sep 13 with ~noon arrival until Sep 21 with 7:00 am flight departure (8 days / 9 nights)
We have a spacious single level home of 2,700 sq ft located on a quiet cul-de-sac. This traditional style home was built in 1953 with numerous large windows to enjoy the view. There is a large recently rebuilt patio with fire pit to enjoy your San Diego evenings. With a large kitchen and wonderful breakfast nook, formal dining room and large living room there is plenty of space to relax. One bedroom and a den with extra beds and two bathrooms are available to you. There is even a separate “cat” bathroom off the laundry room.
We are only a ten minute drive from San Diego International Airport. It would be feasible to live here without a car but we would recommend a car to explore the greater area. There is a bus stop 5 minutes from the house. There is a small amount of aircraft noise from the International Airport and the Navy Base across the bay but the flight paths are a good distance away from the house. On foggy mornings you can hear the fog horns of ships on the bay and the bells on the buoys marking the ship channel. The departure point for the ocean going sport fishing fleet is a ten minute walk and naturally there are several good seafood restaurants close by.
