We are a bi-lingual couple (English/German) in our mid-/late 60s, who are looking for a house sitter or house sitter couple for about 3 weeks this spring from about late Feb. through mid March . We would need someone quiet, calm, nonsmoking, whom our shy, indoor cat will trust. Would also ask that a potential sitter would keep our home well maintained and tidy and house and patio plants watered. This early in the year, our garden will need no maintenance.
Our home is located on 5 acres of forested land (bordering State Park lands along a small river, great for kayaking/canoeing) in a neighborhood of about 16 houses, and a few miles from the small artsy town of Pittsboro, NC, USA. By car, Pittsboro is about 20 minutes from Chapel Hill, 45 minutes from Durham, and 45 minutes from the NC capital of Raleigh.
We have Spectrum cable and good Wi-Fi speeds. Also, we are both vaccinated and hope that you are, likewise.
Because three major universities are within driving distance, there is lots to do in our area in terms of dancing and the arts...and lots to do if you are a person who loves nature and the outdoors. If you are a Contra Dancer, please know that our area has an amazing Contra Dance community. We also have a health food store and several farmers' markets only a short drive from us.
You would need a vehicle to get around and be comfortable out in the countryside. We have lots of wildlife here: deer, hawks, raccoons, possums, coyotes, etc., but our property has a deer fenced area around the garden. You can walk directly from our property to the river through the forest. We also have lovely neighbors and good friends in the nearby towns.
Please reach out if this type of house sitting appeals to you. Thanks.
