Looking for an extended stay in the nation's capital? I have a charming little house and a little (sometimes charming) dog in a charming suburban neighborhood just across the District line.
I am an independent documentary photographer and adjunct professor at George Washington University. I have traveled to many places for extended periods of time in pursuit of compelling stories to tell. These days though, I mostly travel to visit my 89-year-old dad down in Florida. I have two small small dogs, Gypsy & Omar. Omar is the better traveler, so I take him with me. Gypsy is more of a homebody, so she gets to stay in her home (fortunately, she allows me to live in it too).
I may be biased, but I do think my house is about the cutest, most charming little structure in the neighborhood. Architecturally, it's like a Cape Cod with training wheels (no dormers). There is a large, fenced-in yard in the back. French doors in the small guest room open up to a flagstone patio. There is a full bathroom on the first floor and an open loft room upstairs with a clawfoot tub right below the skylights (sink & toilet too).
The house gets beautiful morning and late afternoon light (because I'm a photographer). Other amenities include:
- easy off street parking
- central AC
- one block from a park and walking trail
- 1.5 blocks from bus stop
- about 1 mile from the nearest Metro stop
- close to cute shops, grocery stores, and neighborhood restaurants
