Hello!
I am seeking someone to look after my cat, houseplants, and one-bedroom apartment for 3 weeks over late August and early September.
The apartment is located on Lake Lynn in northwest Raleigh, a 20 minute drive from downtown Raleigh, 25 minutes from Durham, and 35 minutes from Chapel Hill. (See below for more information on the location.)
My very sweet four-year-old cat Thistle is going to be looking for someone to love on while I'm away! He loves sitting right beside you on the couch, watching the local squirrels, and burrowing under blankets. He is low-maintenance and just happy to have a companion in the house and someone to give him his food twice a day. But he's also used to me being out of the house during the day, so you don't need to worry about going out and exploring.
I have a lot of houseplants, but they're also low-maintenace - as long as you water them occassionally, they'll be happy!
About the location:
My apartment overlooks Lake Lynn, a city park. You can walk out the apartment door and directly onto a walking trail. There are views of the water and forest from all windows and a nice, shaded patio. If you have your own kayak, you can bring it along and put in right by the apartment for a paddle! The location is secluded, quiet, and safe, while still being convenient to everything.
If you're looking for city attractions, downtown Raleigh, Durham, and Cary are all easy drives away. Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough are a bit further, but still in easy access. The wonderful North Carolina Art Museum is very close by, and there are many great museums and historic sites to explore in the region. The entire metro area has great offerings of food, drink, and events like live music. If you like the outdoors, the 5,500+ acre Umstead State Park is 10 minutes away, and Falls Lake State Recreation Area is 15 minutes away.
About the apartment:
Ammenities: central air and heat; in-unit washer and dryer; dishwasher; high-speed wi-fi; queen bed; TV with subscription to several streaming services; patio; two pools and a gym within complex.
Ideal for an individual or couple, or even a pair of friends (if one doesn't mind sleeping on the couch or air mattress!).
There is a bus stop close to the complex and a grocery store just over a mile away on the bus line. However, given the sprawling, car-centric nature of the metro region, if you do want to get out and about it I would recommend a car.
