The house/cat sitter I had arranged has a health emergency and now I am looking for for a reliable house sitter who can take care of my cat, Olive for two weeks in late July. Olive is very easy - she is 16 and quite independent. She goes in and out on her own with a cat door (no kitty litter to clean) and eats only kibble. She likes company but is not a cuddler, and can be left for the occasional overnight.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood about a mile from downtown Olympia, walking distance from grocery shopping, hair salon, restaurants and other necessities. A bus line runs very closeby, no no car is needed.
It is a 1440 sq ft home with 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms and a studio, as well as a 2-car garage and a garden in a fenced backyard. I will be looking for a cat sitter who also enjoys gardening (it is not a lot of work as the garden is well mulched and just requires a bit of maintenance - there is an irrigation system and should be very little to do other than some light weeding.)
The bus stops just a block away and can take you anywhere in Olympia, including the train station, so you don't need a car. After a local bus takes you downtown, there is bus service to Tacoma and Seattle. The house is on city water, with bi-weekly garbage, compost and recycling collection, Air conditioning and very good Wifi. There is also a TV and gas fireplace.
There is an outside deck in the enclosed back yard, so it is a lovely private space to sit outside and listen to the waterfall feature.
The Pacific Northwest is ideal if you like to hike, kayak, sail, or just expore, and there are many bike and hiking trails within easy access.
