We are a 34-year-old couple who live and work in the north of Spain, in San Sebastián. We have a mixed breed dog, 20 kilos and 15 years old. Despite his advanced age, he is healthy and does not require any special care. The only handicap is that he has an urgency to urinate, which means that when going to take him out into the street, he sometimes has the urge to urinate, so we take him out with a diaper, to prevent him from dirtying the stairs of the building. He can do this once in a month, besides that we take him out always with the diaper. At home he never urinates. We take him for walks 3 times a day.
We are planning a two-week trip to Nepal, and considering this problem and his age, we would like him to be able to stay calm at home, instead of taking him to a dog hotel. He gets along well with all kinds of animals, although he prefers to be left alone. Being older, he no longer seeks to play with other dogs and if he is bothered a lot, he can growl, but he is never aggressive, he just wants to be left his space. He loves and adores humans, he is very affectionate and quite dependent, he will always seek to be close to a human. He has cataracts and a little deafness, so we don't release him on the street anymore.
Our house is located in the center of the city, so it has many services nearby (restaurants, bars, supermarkets) and you can walk everywhere. The beach is a 10-minute walk away. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and kitchen, it has about 70 m2.
