We're looking for a housesitter who can look after our cats and also water the gardens. Our two cats, Yuca and Malloe, mostly take care of themselves, as they are inside/outside and have their own cat door. Yuca was recently injured, though, and required surgery. He will be newly healed up by the time of your house sit, but I don't yet know if he'll be going outside again by then. Either way, we just need you to keep a friendly eye on him. And of course give him and Malloe all the scritches and the smooches.
We have several garden plots scattered around the front and back yards, and we might need some of them watered once, depending on the weather. If a deep freeze is forecasted then you'd need to lay blankets and sheets over some of the beds. We have lots of plants inside, but most are succulents so won't need watering. There are about 8 other houseplants you'll need to water one time.
The dates listed are the time we will be gone and the longest you could stay. Staying for less time is totally fine, we'd just like someone here for the majority.
Our home is a modest one story, three bedroom, with one bedroom devoted to my sewing work space, as I make my living as a seamstress. The main bedroom has a queen bed and my daughter's bedroom has a twin bed. We are very artsy and have an entire wall of craft supplies in the living room, along with lots of intriguing found natural artifacts displayed on shelves and dresser tops. Our house is not luxury by any means, but it is clean and colorful and joyful and peaceful.
If you are looking to come to Austin then you already know about all the amazing stuff to do here. Downtown is 6 miles away, a 15 minute drive, and Barton Springs is 8 miles away, a 20 minute drive. The city bus direct to downtown picks up two blocks from our house. I've lived here in Austin for 23 years now, so I can give you all the insider tips and advice you'd like! Thank you!
