Looking for house sit for my tortoise hair cat, Jacques, for about 3 weeks June 20-July 9.
Jacques is now almost 16, but seems to be holding up well. I lost her mom about 3 weeks ago, so she's been wanting more attention than her usual independent self. She'll take a while to warm up and will not sit on your lap, but will hopefully get to the point where she'll stand on your lap to get petted or at least next to you to insist on being petted. She has a cat door to go in and out and takes no medications or special needs.
House is in NE Seattle (in the city), on very quiet street, with lots of trees and a garden (might be some veggies coming ripe you'll be welcome to pick), but only 3 minutes from grocery store, restaurants, etc. and 20 minutes from downtown (except during rush hour :). Minutes to Burke Gilman trail for biking, walking, running. Easy access from Seattle to mountains, Puget Sound, city life. Light filled with lots of windows, large deck with grill, views of lake from multiple rooms, TV with satellite, new audiophile stereo (and lots of CDs), all amenities in updated kitchen, AC if gets hot. Master bedroom suite with cathedral ceilings and deck, bathroom recently redone, with large shower, soaker tub, heated floor in shower. Refinished basement entertainment room with large screen and surround sound for great movie watching (though harder to find DVDs these days). High speed internet.
All bills on autopay. Garden and outdoor pots have drip irrigation system on timers, so no work needed -- do need indoor plants watered weekly. So pretty much just keeping kitty fed, watered, and loved.
I'm a retired, single man, and clean (but not sterile or spotless, house comfy, approachable). I do volunteer work as board president of non-profit around climate change.
